Here is one of my all-time favorite newborn sessions, largely because the momma is my dear friend and it’s always a little extra special when you get to photograph someone you love personally. Plus, her baby is beautiful and the nursery…OMG. I die. I expected nothing less than a unique, trendy, and boho inspired nursery with some sentimental touches and a few funky ones too! Steph has amazing taste and all the neutrals with some pops of color turned into a great session aesthetically. Leni was the perfect little babe to photograph. I don’t think she cried once, which meant we got to wrap her up in a few different swaddles for different looks.

TIP: If you’re looking for light and airy newborn photos, neutralize your home! Get rid of clutter, open as many windows as possible ahead of time to get a feel for when your bedroom and nursery are the brightest (this helps us schedule the best time), pick up a white or light colored bedspread from Homegoods!! I can’t stress the bedding enough. It serves as a natural reflector and determines the overall color palette of your photos. Colorful bedspreads are beautiful as well, but you don’t want that turquoise reflecting, creating a color cast, or drawing all of the attention in your photos! The less distractions from baby and your family, the better.
